There are times in our lives, both personally and professionally, when we are faced with change.  The effect of change on some people can be very uncomfortable, resulting in feelings of being out of control.  During these times our coping skills can be challenged and we may face physical and psychological setbacks. From a work point of view, these changes may affect our work performance and ability to function at our best, placing pressure on ourselves and our teams.

This workshop has been developed to look at resilience and learned optimism - a skill that can be learned and developed and become effective in difficult times.  Resilient people are those that bounce back after an event, and can explain bad events as not permanent or personal.  They see good events in their lives as those caused by their own strong abilities.

The goal of the workshop will be to assist individuals to identify their current coping levels, and then provide a practical and educational framework as to ways to increase their skills in managing change and becoming resilient. It will aim to have individuals develop a sense of personal power, and be more able to accept that change is a process and requires adjustment.
