Psychometric Assessments

Psychometric Assessments are used to assist decision making regarding a wide range of human resource issues.  Psychometric assessments are tools that have been systematically developed to measure specific psychological domains such as intelligence or personality.

Psychometric assessments provide a more objective measure of personality and ability, and provide a wider scope of information than can be obtained through self report or interview.

Some applications of psychometric assessment include:

  • Selection and job matching: choosing the right person for the job
  • Assessing specific ability (e.g. mechanical aptitude)
  • Safe work behaviour: measures associated with safe working practices
